Client Overview
A professional office park in Cobb County, Georgia, with a high-traffic parking deck that connects directly to the front entrance. They wanted to brighten their exterior landscape by creating an outdoor lounge area for their tenants. Their main goal was high impact, little to no maintenance.
Challenge
The client wanted to enhance the look of their rooftop lounge area, but the space presented several complications. Being fully exposed to the elements meant live plants would struggle to survive, and the area needed to look good year-round with little to no maintenance. Rain and drainage were a major concern, and we had to be thoughtful about how to stage materials to prevent water pooling and plant displacement.

Solution
We designed and installed an exterior artificial foliage solution using commercial-grade materials specifically rated for outdoor use. The layout included:
- Artificial Podocarpus and Liriope, placed in clean black planters that border the rooftop lounge
- UV-rated foliage, built to withstand direct sunlight without fading
- Black rubber mulch, used as a sleek base for both aesthetics and long-term durability
- Smart staging techniques to ensure proper water drainage and wind resistance
The final design gave the rooftop a lush, permanent look—without the maintenance headaches.
Results
The parking deck entry now feels bright, intentional, and welcoming. Employees and visitors alike experience a polished outdoor space the moment they arrive, and the building managers have peace of mind knowing it will stay that way with no upkeep.
