Live Plants And Moss Art Elevating Tenant Experience At This Modern Mixed‑Use Development

Continuum Alpharetta, a mixed-use development, transformed its lobby and lounge into inviting, nature-connected spaces. Integrating live plants and moss walls, the design enhances tenant comfort while maintaining a modern aesthetic, attracting desired professional tenants.

Client Overview

Continuum Alpharetta is a premier mixed-use development located at 5555 Windward Parkway West in Alpharetta, Georgia. Situated on 52 acres and seamlessly integrated into Alpharetta’s evolving work‑life landscape, the community features commercial offices, retail, residences, and shared amenity spaces

The building team wanted its lobby and lounge to feel modern, inviting, and connected to nature—designed to attract professional tenants and support a friendly tenant experience.

The Challenge

Continuum’s lobby and tenant lounge were highly trafficked communal spaces, located under a stairwell and double‑as‑seating booths. They needed to feel relaxing and upscale while reinforcing the brand’s biophilic, modern aesthetic.

Key challenges included:

  • Integrating greenery into prebuilt planter areas under stairs.
  • Designing booth‑style seating that incorporated plant life without interfering with functionality.
  • Blending live plant installations with sculptural features that reflect the building’s modern, nature-connected values.

The Solution

Our team installed multiple layers of greenery throughout the lobby and lounge:

  • Live tropical plants in prebuilt planters beneath the staircases, including lush foliage designed to thrive in interior lighting conditions.
  • Living moss walls in two focal areas—the lobby and tenant lounge. These preserved moss installations offer a low-maintenance yet high-impact visual texture.
  • The design balanced modern materials and clean lines with greenery that softens space and enhances tenant comfort.

All plantings were selected for their resilience in central Georgia’s climate, and the moss walls maintained humidity-appropriate species for longevity.

The Results

Continuum’s lobby and tenant lounge now feel like calm, modern retreats—perfect for professionals working or visiting the building. Visitors often mention the fresh air feel and the welcoming atmosphere. The moss walls provide brand consistency, visual calmness, and genuine biophilic value without the need for watering or ongoing care. The building now offers elevated interior experience that attracts the type of tenants Continuum aims to serve.
